I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 700m laptop with a nice widescreen display. I've connected it to my HDTV via the S-video and the quality is crap. Unfortunately, there isnt a DVI port on my laptop. All it has is the standard VGA port. Could I buy a DVI cable and find a DVI to VGA converter and snap it on the end of the cord. I asked the guy at Best Buy is such a thing exists and he was clueless.
More importantly, if such a thing DOES exist, will there be a big quality drop with this method?
Thanks.
