hi, i just joined this tribe because my husband went and got a sony sxrd 50" monster television. while i was a little resistant (seems a bit gratuitous in our small living room), i have to admit it's pretty cool. i want to get him an upconverting dvd player for his birthday, but i'm a little confused. i wanted to get the sony one but it says it uses hdmi, and our tv has a dvi interface. does that matter? should i bother with sony since it's the same brand, or should i go for something else like samsung (which i've read good reviews about), which i think says it does both dvi and hdmi?

Fri, March 10, 2006 - 9:35 AMAs far as I can tell the specs are nearly the same, but different bodies.
also keep in mind that neither of these models includes the HDMI cable...
